Hello! I'm Krystal Bradford, artist and art teacher living in Brisbane.
I'm absolutely obsessed with colour - it's amazing how it can evoke emotions and capture the essence of a place. When I'm painting, I let my palette guide me, inspiring the shapes, textures, and raw, layers that make up my composition. I love playing with thin washes of colour and adding intricate, imperfect marks and symbolic details that nod to the landscape. I’m always encouraging the viewer to take a closer look.
Growing up amidst the beauty of beaches, bush and rainforest of Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast, I'm endlessly inspired by the diverse landscapes around me. The way coastlines, mountains, pathways, and water channels flow and change is mesmerizing. But what really resonates with me is the deep connection between people and the places they call home. The stories, histories, and experiences that are woven into the very fabric of the land inspire me to create.

A: Krystal uses high-quality artist canvas that is pre-stretched and double-primed with gesso. She paints with artist-grade acrylic paints from renowned brands like Derivan Matisse, Jo Sonja, Liquitex, Atelier, and Golden.
To ensure longevity and protection, the artworks are sealed with various matte and satin varnishes, applied in both spray and liquid form. These varnishes also make it easy to wipe the surface if needed.

A: Currently, all artworks are sold unframed. However, if you wish to have your artwork framed, Krystal can recommend a float frame that complements the art. She will provide you with the additional cost for framing, which is typically completed within 2-5 business days and then ready for delivery/freight.

A: To initiate a commission, you can contact Krystal via email or Instagram DM.
Krystal would be delighted to hear about the colours, style, or previous works that you admire, and discuss how she can create a unique piece for you. During this process, details such as time frame, size, and costs will be discussed. If the commission is confirmed, a deposit will be required to commence the work. Krystal will keep you updated on the progress and seek your feedback on proofs before finalising the artwork. Once completed, the artwork will be sealed and prepared for collection.
